5 Things to Look Forward to; October in Stowe Vermont

wieler

Stowe, Vermont combines a classic 200-year-old New England village with  Vermont’s highest peak, Mt. Mansfield.

However, there is much more to Stowe, Vermont, the town famous for it’s skiing and winter activities. For example, did you know that Stowe is rated as the #1 fall foliage destination by Trip Advisor?

From skiing, hiking, mountain biking, swimming, paddling, glider soaring, corn maze exploring…the list goes on! No matter the time of year you can find an event, or recreational activity to take advantage of the great outdoors.

Not the sporting type? You’ll still enjoy a trip to Stowe—just plan on hitting the spa instead of the slopes, or perhaps a craft beer tour with 4 Points Craft Beer Tours? A choice of spas, pools restaurants and bars…with so many options there is something for everyone here in Stowe!

We’ve taken the liberty of compiling a few events happening the coming month here in Stowe to help you plan your trip!

Stowe Vermont October, 2016 Events

Stowe Rotary Club’s Annual Oktoberfest

oktoberfestFriday 9/30- Sunday 10/02

The Town of Stowe’s event field will be transformed into a Bavarian village, under a traditional tent this year for this annual celebration of the harvest and fall foliage. From Oompah bands to authentic Bavarian foods and freshly brewed Vermont beers to traditional sing-a-longs and dancing, even a silent auction… there’s something for every “villager”… young and old. It’s a weekend full of music, dancing, and of course great beer. Oktoberfest is a great time for a good cause. Last year, Oktoberfest allowed Stowe Rotary to provide over $50,000.00 worth of support to over twenty local charities and scholarships in the greater Lamoille/Washington County region.

The marquee event will be the group rides for all abilities that tackle some of the northeast’s best terrain and afford some of Vermont’s best views—whether you’re a seasoned vet or a new to the MTB game, we have a ride for you. Clinics for beginner and intermediate riders, kids rides, all day endurance rides, and even rec path cruisers, the Leaf Blower has something for everyone. And after you’ve gotten your share of single track, adjourn back to homebase for a catered cookout, a few local brews, and the requisite telling of tall tales around the camp fire.
